Graduate Application Status Definitions at MySJSU

After you sign into http://my.sjsu.edu (MySJSU) and check your admission status, you may need some help interpreting the abbreviations. Here are some useful definitions and explanations.

ACCEPTED

You have been accepted by both Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations and your department. Your student record will now be handled by the Registrar's Office for registration eligibility.
-Please refer to your "official" admission letter for all conditions and/or provisions of your acceptance.

Accepted - Classified Graduate (CCCL)
You have been admitted in clear standing to the university and to your Graduate Program.
-You have no conditions or outstanding documents required.

Accepted - Conditionally Classified Graduate (CCCC)
You have been admitted in clear standing to the university but are required to meet specific conditions outlined by your Graduate Program.
-Departmental conditions are outlined in your official SJSU admission letter. All conditions must be met during your first year, signed off by the Graduate Advisor, and forwarded to Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations for processing before clear standing is granted.

Accepted - Provisionally and Conditionally Classified Graduate (PRCC)
You have been admitted both provisionally to the university (you owe Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations documents) and Conditionally by your Graduate Program.
-Check your "To Do List" in MySJSU for a list of documents required to clear your provisional status.
Please note: if you do not clear your provision by the date specified on your "To Do List", your admission will be revoked and you will not be able to register for the upcoming semester.
-Departmental conditions are outlined in the your official SJSU admission letter. All conditions must be met during your first year, signed off by the Graduate Advisor, and forwarded to Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations for processing before clear standing is granted.

Accepted - Provisionally Classified Graduate (PRCL)
You have been admitted provisionally and owe documents to Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations to complete your admission process.
-Check your "To Do List" in MySJSU for a complete list and instructions.
-Please note - if you do not clear your provision by the date specified on your "To Do List", your admission will be revoked and you will not be able to register for the upcoming semester.

Accepted - Credential (CCCR)
You have been admitted in clear standing to the university in a Credential Program.
-Any additional requirements placed on your admission will be sent under separate cover from the Credential Program Office.

Accepted - Provisionally Admitted-Credential (PRCR)
You have been admitted provisionally to the university in a Credential Program and owe documents to Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations to complete your admission process.
-Check your "To Do List" in MySJSU for a complete list and instructions. Please note: if you do not clear your provision by the date specified on your "To Do List", your admission will be revoked and you will not be able to register for the upcoming semester.
-Any additional requirements placed on your admission will be sent under separate cover from the Credential Program Office.

Admit by Self-Report Data - Pre-Approved Graduate Admission for the School of Information Programs ONLY (AAG)
You have been pre-approved for admission into the Library Science department pending the final verification of your admission documents by the GAPE Office (you owe Graduate Admissions and Program Evaluations admission documents for final verification).
-Check your "To Do List" in MySJSU for a list of documents required to move on with the admissions process.
Please note - if you do not submit documents by the posted deadline specified on your "To Do List", your pre-approved admission will be withdrawn and you will not be considered for the application term.

APPLICATION UNDER REVIEW

Complete (CO)
All outstanding documents needed to have your application evaluated for CSU eligibility have been received. Your application is currently being reviewed by Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations.
-Check MySJSU frequently to follow the progress of your application status

Incomplete (NC)
Your application has been received by SJSU but not yet reviewed for outstanding documents and/or fees. As we receive documents, your application status will be updated.
-Please check your application status weekly for updates.

Incomplete - Verified (NCV)
Your application has been reviewed by the Data Specialist in Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations.
-Check your "To Do List" in MySJSU for a complete list of outstanding documents and instructions.

Referred to Grad Department (RF)
Your application has been evaluated and determined as meeting CSU eligibility by Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations. Your file has been referred out to your Graduate Program for a final admission determination.
-Check MySJSU frequently to follow the progress of your application status.
-Please contact your Graduate Advisor or check your department's website if you have questions about the department's review process.
-- In addition, no further documents are needed at this time.

Referred to Grad Department - Provisional (RFPR)
Your application has been evaluated and determined as meeting CSU eligibility by Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations. Your file has been referred out to your Graduate Program for a final admission determination.
-Check MySJSU frequently to follow the progress of your application status.
-Please contact your Graduate Advisor or check your department's website if you have questions about the department's review process.
-- In addition, if admitted you will need to submit further documents as listed on your MySJSU "To Do List".

Referred to Grad Department - Special Action (RFSC)
Your application has been evaluated and determined as not meeting CSU eligibility by Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations. However, the major department has made a special request to review your application. Your file has been referred out to your Graduate Program for a final admission determination.
-Check MySJSU frequently to follow the progress of your application status.
-Please contact your Graduate Advisor or check your department's website if you have questions about the department's review process.
- Special Action requests require additional approval by the Associate Dean.
- In addition, no further documents are needed at this time.

Referred to Grad Department - Special Action and Provisional (RFSP)
Your application has been evaluated and determined as not meeting CSU eligibility by Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations. However, the major department has made a special request to review your application. Your file has been referred out to your Graduate Program for a final admission determination.
-Check MySJSU frequently to follow the progress of your application status.
-Please contact your Graduate Advisor or check your department's website if you have questions about the department's review process.
-- Special Action requests require additional approval by the Associate Dean.
-- In addition, if admitted you will need to submit further documents as listed on your MySJSU "To Do List".

APPLICATION WITHDRAWN

Withdrawn Unaccommodated (WGNC), (WGIC), (WGRF)
Due to enrollment restrictions, your application has been withdrawn.


Withdrawn, Missing Documents (DOCG)
Your application has been withdrawn; documents not submitted by the deadline.

Withdrawn, No Action by Department (WDEP)
Your application has been withdrawn; no decision provided by the department.

APPLICATION DENIED

GPA too low determined by University (DGLW)
Your application was denied for not meeting the 2.50 University GPA requirement.

GPA too low determined by Department (DGPA)
Your application was denied for not meeting the GPA requirement as set forth by the major department.

Degree Not Equivalent (DDGR)
Your application was denied for not presenting the equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree.

Low English Test Score (DTFL)
Your application was denied based on obtaining low scores on a Test of English Exam.

Low TOEFL Test Score (DTFL)
Your application was denied based on obtaining low scores on the TOEFL Exam.

Low IELTS Test Score (DILT)
Your application was denied based on obtaining low scores on the IELTS Exam.

Low Pearson Test Score (DPSN)
Applicant denial based on obtaining low scores on the Pearson Exam.

Limited Space (DLTD)
Applicant denial based on limited space as set forth by the major department.

Insufficient Background (DISB)
Applicant denial based on insufficient background as set forth by the major department.

Denied by Department (DDNY)
Applicant denial based on a non-specified decision as set forth by the major department.

Did Not Meet Committee Conditions (DNCC)
Applicant denial based on not meeting admission conditions set forth by the major department (i.e. submission of department application, test scores, etc.).

Interview (DINT)
Applicant denial based on department interview.

Academic Standing (DSTN)
Applicant denial based on not being in good academic standing at the last institution attended.
