The Lower Division Transfer Pattern (LDTP) by Major project is one of several ways that California Community College (CCC) students may use to prepare for study at the California State University (CSU). CCC students who know the major they wish to pursue at which CSU campus traditional major preparation articulation and transfer admission agreements are valuable. However, for transfer students who are uncertain about which CSU campus they will attend, the LDTP provides a measure of flexibility and options for preparation. LDTP may provide articulation for students whose community college does not have existing CSU articulation. For more information please visit the CSU LDTP website.
CSU faculty developed the LDTP Course Descriptors describing the appropriate course content necessary to meet the requirements for LDTP articulation.
The Lower Division Transfer Patterns Project identifies courses of comparable content, maintain standards of academic rigor for those courses, and insure their transfer between and among participating institutions. The LDTP Project streamlines the articulation process by eliminating the need for every CCC campus in the State to articulate their courses with every CSU campus in order to provide needed transfer and articulation information to prospective transfer students.
The LDTP Project assures students that the approved LDTP course(s) on the participating campus will be accepted "in lieu of" the comparable LDTP course(s) on any CSU campus. San José State University has accepted the following LDTP course descriptors to meet the content of the SJSU courses listed below.
