Conditional Admission Program - International Freshman Applicants

SJSU offers conditional admission to undergraduate programs to international freshman students who are academically qualified, but have not met the English language requirement at the time of application. These students are issued a conditional admission letter to SJSU and advised to attend International Gateways until they meet the language requirement.

Who is a Freshman?

A freshman is a student who has graduated from secondary school and has no college or university coursework completed. If you have attended college or university in your country or in another country, you may not apply for undergraduate conditional admission.
